Quick post to say...

I have no time to do anything worth posting. ACK! All of my crafty supplies are packed away and will probably remain until after finals. Or after the summer. Who knows. Maybe I am only a cold-weather crafter. So sad. I would love to work on something right now!

My amazing, wonderful, thoughtful husband (no, he's not reading over my shoulder) took me to the coast this weekend--- just the two of us. He planned for my mom to watch the boys and everything! How sweet. We were so lucky to have such great weather. We had seafood, watched the sunset, did a little shopping, and saw TONS of whales! It was amazing, for sure. (These are sodas BTW...not beer : )

I made a card today. I was itchin' to use this stamp and I thought I would get a little crazy with it.

Aren't those fluffies cute? I want to snuggle with them. Jess (my husband) thinks they look like pigs in a bubble bath. HEHEHE

So this is a swivel card. Can you tell? It swivels.
Maybe I should change my blog to something like weekend blogger. It seems that's when I have the time these days. After school never happens around here - this place has a revolving door Monday through Friday.

I had a speech today in my Public Speaking class (go figure) and my family was the topic of choice. So I find it fitting to entertain myself with a few cute pics:

There was a paper craft challenge posted in the Cafemom Group, paper craft junkies that I found interesting. So, when my friend came over for dinner last night I surprised her with a little project. Let me tell you, I wish I would've taken pictures through the process. They looked pretty hopeless to ever become more than tangled strips of paper. But, after a glass or two of wine, we were able to get 'er done! So here is the final project: cute little Easter baskets. And if you are wanting to try out this tutorial yourself, here is the link.

A few suggestions:
1. We put a cup in the middle to hold everything in place and keep the bottom round and even.
2. Do this project with a friend. The encouragement is helpful and we kept each other motivated to not give up.
3. Wine is not necessary, but helpful.

A few of my favorite things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens? Okay, maybe. BUT that's not what I was thinking. And, yes, the obvious would be my handsome husband, my adorable children and my bestest friends. I was thinking more about the OTHER things. The inanimate things that make me smile. When I walked into my bedroom this afternoon (after a LONG day at school) I smiled out loud when i saw these things:

1. This is my amazing 9 year old. Do you like his outfit? Don't be jealous. He is not afraid to sport his own fashions. He is original and cutting edge. He is holding my CuttleBug. I love it! It still makes me smile daily.

2. Can you tell what this is? My husband drilled holes in a box for me for the ribbon I have been collecting. My plan was to doctor it up with decorative paper and such, but I was so excited to fill it up that it just never happened.

3. This is some rick-rack I got while browsing through antique shops with my friends. It makes me think of them and how much fun I have hanging out with them. I'm not sure if I can bring myself to use it. At least not quite yet.
